I’m not going to lie, I paused a little before committing to ABBA Mania. Why? because we never want the music we grew up on and cherish to be tainted a tribute band. Period. Boy, was I WRONG!. Abba Mania was one of the best decisions I’ve made so far this year. The chemistry between all the performers was without question the most loving I’ve seen in years and this talented group of performers was nothing short of perfection. ABBA has some big shoes to fill and this bunch filled those shoes (and then some).
We had some issues that were out of everyone’s control on show day and it was stressful for everyone but the show must go on. They gave a spot-on performance with genuine grins ear to ear and even with the time delays- never missed a beat. The energy, the passion and connectivity with the audience was evident and a retirement home even let a few residents bust out for the night to enjoy the show. When the bus pulled up with the elderly I knew it was going to be a good night!. Die hard fans from young to not-so-young filled the room and tweens dancing next to the retirement residents was only proof that ABBA’s music will continue to span and be enjoyed for generations to come.
Lucky me to be such a small part of such a memorable show. If you were at the show you would have never known their bus broke down and we got everyone on stage (and in costume) with only a few minutes to spare.
