I'm the most comfortable in my element of music than anywhere else.
One of my dearest friends Steve Fulton and his favorite guitar..
Oddly enough, as a designer, I'm always crawling around on the floor looking for the coolest designed gear. This is by far the coolest "Gig Fix" pedal I've seen.
Michael Franti 2013
Michael Franti was one of the most energetic concerts I've ever been to. An amazing performer with the biggest heart, Michael dashed through crowds passing out heartfelt hugs and genuine smiles. A must see if you ever get the chance.
A great group of guys and great crew...
Musician, Visual Arts Collective owner + Audio Lab extraordinare, Steve Fulton's music is a staple in our music playlist.
Everyone wants a VIP pass
Backstage at the Visual Arts Collective lies a sea of artists lanyards who have performed at the VAC or in another venue in Boise, Idaho. For a smaller city, some big names have graced the Boise venue circuit.
I had a phenomenal opportunity to photograph famous opera singer Brandon Jovanovich as Lohengrin at the San Francisco opera. What Brandon considers normal "stuff" in his bag was a feast for my camera. To see an opera production at this magnitude was a rare and special gift.
A sea of mics
The collection of Michael Franti's mics.
Dishwalla SF 2013
Dishwalla kicked off their 2013 tour at the Red Devil Lounge in SF.
People I Love
Some of my favorite people on the planet here captured in their true glory.
A one year documentary of a discarded decorated veteran named Lew. Lew spent his entire career in the United States Air-Force. Through a 15 year friendship, I eventually became his sole caregiver. Together, we traveled through his journey of stage 4 oral + neck cancer. I documented the last year of his life, up's, down's and everything in-between. After his death in 2011, I continued to photograph what took place around me. To this day, this year long journey changed my life to the point that I left a 20 year design career to pursue documenting other people's personal journey's.
Okay, so dead birds may not be everyone's idea of nature shots. There are some trees here too.
Jeff Hussein Hills
A man and his beard. Jeff came to me wanting to document his beard, he had been growing it for a year and was near the end of it's life. Jeff had been growing it for charity and it was soon to be shaved off by one lucky student. We had some fun, stepped out and even made him seem a little crazy.
Just a little bit of crazy..
Of course we had to make Jeff seem a little crazy with that beard. I told him to "Yell at me" and he eeked out a little scream...this gave him just the right amount of crazy.
Capturing Jeff and one of his past times...reading Rolling Stone
A Day at the Pool
Many good days photographing and the Natatorium, Boise.
Miles + Finn
My pride and joy and an never ending photoshoot, being twins...
I Miss the Coast
The feeling of the sand between my toes. Can't I have that right now?
If I could, I would spend all my days wandering the city, taking in the energy and documenting all the daily rituals.
There is something so beautiful and real about cemeteries to me. Every time it's foggy, that's where you'll find me.
